Action Rhyme Alphabet Soup
I handed out letters to all the kids and while we sang the alphabet (very slowly), the kids would come up and put their letter on the board. This was a huge hit.

What goes into rainbow stew? Listen now while I tell you.

Put in red beets, put in red beets. Put the red beets in the stew. (children wearing red enter the circle)
Put in ‘tators, put in ‘tators. Put in chunks of brown potatoes. (children wearing brown enter the circle)
Put in squash, put in squash, Put in rounds of yellow squash. (children wearing yellow enter the circle)
Then stir! (everyone turns around)
