I Know the Colors of the Rainbow
I know the colors of the rainbow
Do you know them too?
If one color were missing,
Would you know which hue?”

If You’re a Writing/Drawing Utensil and You Know It
Hey, I came up with it. I get to give it any title I want! This goes to the tune of If You’re Happy and You Know It.
If you’re a crayon and you know it, then scribble! (turn in circles)
If you’re a crayon and you know it, then scribble! (turn in circles)
If you’re a crayon and you know it, all your scribbling will show it,
If you’re a crayon and you know it, then scribble! (turn in circles)
Paintbrush…swish around (swish your arms over your head), Pencil…scratch around (shuffle your feet), Pen…Pop your lid (jump up and throw your arms up like you’re popping a lid off your head)

This Is the Way
This is the way we stir the paint, stir the paint, stir the paint
This is the way we stir the paint so early in the morning
(dip our brush, paint the paper, blow it dry, frame the picture)
Credit: Modified from several other sources. Primarily from Abby the Librarian.
I laminated paper paintbrushes and had the kids do this song with them.
Painting
o Paint long straight lines on their legs
o Circles on their knees.
o Paint different parts of their bodies
o Ask them to paint zigzags
o Rainbows
o Straight lines on the floor in front of them
o Paint letters of the alphabet on the floor in front of them
Source: I found this on another blogger’s website and liked the idea of using my laminated paint brushes.
