Observations

This was a harder session to get through. Most of my kids had cabin fever and we barely got through the books. I decided up to amp up the music portion and dance like crazy. They really got a kick out of the Chocolate song.

Observations

The kids were pretty antsy given the nice weather. The parents got a kick out of Everyone Loves Bacon. The biggest hit with the kids was the “Toast in the Toaster.” We only had a handful of kids, so I was able to lift all the kids in the air for the pop (with the parent’s permission of course).

Observations

When I read The Duckling Gets a Cookie I would plug my nose for the duckling. The kids got a kick out of it! I do recommend to read this book last if you do this action. I read it first in my first preschool storytime and the kids kept plugging their nose through the rest. I also danced around and asked the kids if they stole the cookies during the “Who Stole the Cookies” song.

Observations

The kid really liked the finger rhyme and the flannel. Books were more iffy with my first toddler group while my second toddler group did fantastic. The biggest surprise was the animal crackers during the song. All the kids sat quietly and nicely while I handed out the crackers.

The kids got a hoot out of Crankenstein Valentine and they were all soon doing Crankenstein’s noise with me. They also really enjoyed the “Valentine in a Box” rhyme and the gushy “Valentine Valentine” rhyme. For the “Valentine Valentine” rhyme, we started the rhyme off softly and then progressively got louder.

This was a shorter storytime, as my little munchkins were refusing to sit for very long. To keep their attention I did different actions for both of the books. The kids favorite part was the action rhyme, “Valentine in a Box.”
